By Stan and Jan Berenstain never gets old!
There are so many reasons to love this book for preschool children. Easy text for early readers – they love the fact that they can “read” the first page after we talk about how many bears and if they are little or big. It is also a wonderful story to practice predictions. But of course, the main reason the children love this story is because we have our own “Spooky Tree” and they LOVE going through it. Can you think of a better way to enhance literacy?
I am lucky enough to have an unused classroom across from the library. The perfect place for a spooky tree.
YES! WE DARE!
YES. WE DARE!
Hmmmmm… will the bear be happy? Mad? Sad?
Of course we go over Great Sleeping Bear, and run all the way home to the library!
On the projector in the library. Could this be where The Spooky Tree is?
This little kit went home with my after school children. Setting up a spooky tree at home is fun and easy.
