We had so much fun learning all about Hanukkah this week. This book is a clever story about a runway dreidel similar to The Night Before Christmas. It has wonderful rhymes and colorful illustrations.
I dear friend lent me one of her menorah’s – how cute is this?
We smelled Challah bread:
We talked about how delicious latkes are:
Each child took home their own dreidel. Pictured here with chocolate gelt:
The children LOVED playing dreidel. And for an added benefit, it is a wonderful prewriting activity for their little fingers.
We also danced to “Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel” by The Laurie Berkner Band. What child does not like to spin(like a dreidel)?
And then fall down like one?
My after school classes had to find all eight candles for the eight nights of Hanukkah and put them in the menorah.
Even Beatrix wanted to participate!
Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate it!
