SEVEN ATE NINE

By Tara Lazar, illustrated by Ross MacDonald

Detective Library showed up for this one:

This book is brilliant!

“As a Private I, I’m used to his type–numbers. They’re always stuck in a problem. But I knew this 7 fella. He was odd.”

Yes, most of that goes right over the children’s head, but as an adult, it is so fun to read! It still has a lot to offer with colorful illustrations, large numbers and a storyline that moves along. What a fun way to talk about, and review numbers.

I love the following pages. Look at 8. She takes her belt off and becomes 0. How clever is that?!

Oh that tricky 6! Turn him upside down and he is 9:

On the projector…numbers of course….

The children loved this:

After the story, we looked at some of the numbers. (Berto was trying to be a detective too!):

A Beatrix, Berto and Detective Library approved book!
