This is a widely popular book with our students. It is brightly illustrated and funny. It seems to get their attention instantly. You know I love to make reading and learning fun – this book does that!
Our vocabulary word. I also had a basket of leaves to show what rustling leaves sound like. (Sorry – forgot to take a photo.)
If we had time after the story, we became leaves falling, twirling and landing softly on the ground.

We read a little more about squirrels in my afternoon classes:
We then went looking for squirrels. (Sadly it was raining on Thursday, but we still managed to find some). Were the squirrels freaking out because they thought someone was stealing their leaves?
We also collected leaves (I had to collect them before for my Thursday class because of the rain).
We glued some of our favorite leaves onto some paper. We also did some coloring.
