Christmas time at a preschool can be both wonderful and chaotic—full of loud, joyful noise. Between parties, concerts, Santa visits, and pure excitement, the days are busy and full. This book felt like the perfect choice to offer the children a small slice of calm and quiet amid all the holiday bustle.
Mysterious was our vocabulary word.

We are always hoping for a snow day – especially around Christmas!

We stopped and pretended to have cocoa with them – yum!

Pickles and bananas? Ummm… I guess we should try it?

This is what you will find Miss Library doing during the Christmas break. Will there be more reading or more falling asleep? They both sound wonderful in front of a fire.

We listened to the “sound” of Santa’s sleigh.

On the projector. We were extra quiet so we did not wake him up!!

Mr. Ticklebottom, one of our fairies at school, loves Christmas. He even looks a little like Santa. He seems to have consorted with the school elves and has caused some mischief this past week.

They left glitter, turned items upside down, took bites of snacks, and caused all kinds of tiny mischief. In the library, books were turned upside down, the little Christmas tree was flipped over, stuffed animals were tucked into the branches, and toilet paper was strung everywhere—along with plenty of glitter.

But Mr. Ticklebottom did leave a special note just for the children, and each child took their own note home. He even left a message for me.
He told me that if a child puts the note under their pillow before bed, he might visit during the night and give them a tiny little kiss. In the morning, they’ll know if Mr. Ticklebottom came because they’ll wake up with a magical, happy feeling in their tummy. I can’t wait to hear what the children report back when they get back to school!

If your child needs a quiet coloring sheet – here you go!
