Welcome to Italian week! We started our week with a flight to Italy.
Each student had their own passport and a boarding pass.

Each child had a seat on the “plane”, our flight attendant and captain shared a safety video and facts about Italy.

When the children arrived to Italy, they were all given cameras to take with them on their sightseeing adventure.

That night, we had a pizza party. The children took their parents on a tour of Italy!

It wouldn’t be Italy without pasta!

I brought in some wheat to show the children.

We looked at all sorts of shapes of pasta, and talked about our favorites.

Pasta is eaten all over the world!

Some good ‘p” sounds!

Our vocabulary word:

We also looked at a book about Italy, and reviewed the monuments and places we had seen after our flight.

I wish I had a photo, but on pizza night we had a baby pool, representing the Trevi fountain. The children threw coins in it (and of course some ended up in it!).

Always a favorite.

Take me to Venice please!

And we finished with remembering about our pizza night.

The Library was turned into an “Italian cafe” :

We are lucky to have a child (and father) who speak Italian. They gave us daily lessons during the week:

I brought out a favorite story. I have learned that children love to be made into pizza! Each child took their own kit home so they could make someone else into a pizza.
