This week, Miss Library’s sister Mother Goose flew in on her goose to read Mother Goose Rhymes to the children.
Look at this book! Mother Goose and Friends by Ruth Sanderson. Such beautiful illustrations. It really seems to capture the imaginations of the children.
We use a little stool for a tuffet to act out Little Miss Muffet:
This one always gets lots of giggles:
So many rhymes, so little time! Mother Goose always wraps up her story time with this one, followed by some candle jumping!
Mother Goose likes to change out “Jack” for the name of each student jumping over the candlestick:
Each child gets a card, so they can do more candle jumping at home:
Mother Goose has been looking for one of her fairies. It was in her pocket when she arrived…??
The children look for clues around the school and on the playground. Her big goose leaves feathers, and the fairy leaves treasures behind.
