In this version she is taking Brussels sprouts soup to her grandmother. Hahah.
Of course, we needed to look at the rules of the woods. 1. Keep to the path 2. Don’t talk to wolves.

Oh no! She forgot one of the rules. (Our children felt confident they would never forget that one).

What a brilliant vocabulary word.

I played a recording on my phone of loud snoring. It provided lots of giggles.

In this version, the wolf is cut open and and Little Red Riding Hood puts stones in his tummy.
Most importantly, Little Red Riding Hood learned her lesson. She never talked to another wolf again.

On the Projector:

…and we can’t forget the rules of the woods…

Before each class left, we had to find out if the teacher was truly the teacher? Or was she a wolf dressed up like a teacher? We noticed what big eyes and ears she had (with a response from the teacher). We then noticed what big teeth the teacher had. (We ran away from a lot of wolves!)

I also played this song. The children loved it.

We read another version of this storing during my after school classes:

I found some red tablecloths at The Dollar Store, they made perfect capes. We also made baskets to take to Grandma. We then went to Grandma’s house – through the “deep dark forest”. If you look closely, you will see a wolf lurking in the “woods”.

When we arrived at Grandma’s house, we found a wolf dressed up. (Darn it, I could not find my granny cap anywhere, but the glasses seemed to do the trick).
We did not stick around to see if he would eat us – we ran!

We retold the story with coloring pages and this soft play set:

Just a reminder to encourage your children to act out, retell, and talk about this story. By doing this, they are developing their pre-literacy skills. They will be working on language, recall, story structure and order. And hopefully having lots of fun.
Beatrix and Berto approve this book!
