Look at Miss Library dancing as a ballerina…(totally not me, but I convinced at least a few of the children – hahahah):

When I was a child, our family went to the Nutcracker every year. I did not know there was a story until I was much older, which is why I love this book. It tells the story in a short and easy to understand way. My hope is that any child who listens or reads this book, will understand just a little bit more of this holiday ballet to make it more fun for them.

This part of the story, just like this part of the ballet, is usually a favorite!

Of course we danced to the music of the Nutcracker after the story:

I brought out my old ballet shoes and borrowed a tutu from a 3 year old. I also found one of my old toe shoes to show the children how the dancers dance on their toes:

The children loved watching this scene of the Mouse King battle on the projector. A great way to get them to retell the story:

I feel certain I look exactly like the Sugarplum Fairy:

I also added a little scent of peppermint to the library:

Another Beatrix and Berto (in a tutu) approved book!
