ROUND IS A TORTILLA: A Book of Shapes

This is a colorful book. Full of culture, Spanish vocabulary and shapes. Perfect for preschoolers, and fun for Hispanic Heritage Month.

I like to play the Mexican Hat Dance song after ” Round are the trumpets that blare out a tune”. It is fun to imagine being there watching this couple dance:

Triangles:

Oval:

Spanish words:

Storytelling tools… at the end of the story, we reviewed all of the shapes.

We spent a few minutes watching these children do the “Mexican Hat Dance” and tried to dance a little too!

My after school children made some piñatas.
