FROGGY GOES TO SCHOOL by Jonathan London, illustrated by Frank Remiewicz

On the projector with sound (I love frogs!):

Before our story, we turn ourselves into frogs. We practiced catching flies for our snack!

Who doesn’t love Froggy, just trying the best he can….

OOPS…

What a relief! It was just a dream…

Yummy! A bowl of flies for breakfast? Well, yes! We are frogs after all…

I especially like this page. I have the children repeat all of the z words. A fun way to work on language skills and for identifying and practicing the sound of z.

Here is another page the children like. Many teachers use this echo clap in the classroom. Some children know it and are so excited. Others are learning this for the first time, so it is a nice introduction to it.

At the end of the school day, Froggy leapfrogs home with his parents…

…so we had to try it too! (Not so easy for this age)

We had more frog fun in our after school classes:

We also made these frogs with “tongues” to try to “catch flies”. See Pinterest below to find out how to make this fun craft!

Another Berto and Beatrix (and Froggy) approved book!
