It was Farm Week. Our chicks hatched for us on Monday – perfect timing.

“Farmer Library” told the story this week.
The Grumpy Morning? Another Grumpy book? (Last week we read Grumpy Monkey). What is going on?

Oh – they are just hungry!?

The children identified the farm animals they saw on each page.

I am not going to lie. I would love to wake up and find all of these animals in my bedroom. Maybe it is time I moved to a farm!?

We had to make sure all ten animals were there – so we counted. We also talked about animals who sleep during the day.

I played the sounds of all of the farm animals in the book. The children loved guessing the animal.

Farm animals on the projector:

We had farm animals come for a visit. Can you think of a better way to learn?

During my after school classes, we had some extra time with the chicks.

We colored the animals from The Grumpy Morning.

We put on some farmer hats…

…to find the animals who got away from our farm.

We had to match them up to make sure we had all ten of our animals.

We then fed them and put them in their barn.
