In Atlanta, the leaves are finally starting to turn.
This is a simple, but beautifully illustrated book to talk about fall. (We talked about the other seasons as well).
How do we know it is fall?

What color leaves do you see?

Our vocabulary word. Have you seen the squirrels ask frisky? They are busy collection acorns and nuts for the winter.

Even after Halloween, we see pumpkins. We might have pumpkin or apple pie for Thanksgiving.
Have you ever picked apples?

We talked about how fun it is to try to catch leaves when they are falling. Playing in a pile of leaves is also fun.

After fall, when the leaves are all gone, what might happen next?

Will it snow this year??

After the story, I showed a video of my dog playing in a pile of leaves. She loves a pile of leaves! (You can find the video at the end of the Youtube video above).

Each child picked a colored leaf. We then held it over our heads and let our leaves fall.

Here is a fall coloring sheet:
I would normally have a beautiful fall video showing on the projector when the children first walk into the library, but sadly looks like I will need to order a new projector. 🙁

Berto would like to jump in a pile of leaves too!
